In late September the village lost a dear friend and colleague with the sudden and tragic death of Sue Lambot due to a stroke.
Sue and her husband Andrew came to live in Lurgashall in 1995, and Sue soon became involved in many village activities.
In 2002 Sue was invited to become the Hon. Secretary of the Village Hall Committee, and together with the then Chairman, she oversaw the full refurbishment of the Village Hall in 2004/5 and many other improvements since.
Despite trying to ‘retire’ from the role a few years ago, she found herself irreplaceable and was finally persuaded to continue her work to maintain and enhance the Hall’s standards, including achieving the Level 2 Hallmark Award for Quality for the Hall.
Her amazing organisational skills, her quiet authority and her tireless willingness to help and guide others have steered the Hall to become the vibrant commuity hub that it is today.
The Village Hall Committee offers its most sincere condolences to Sue’s family. She will be missed beyond words…
