Village Hall report – 16 March 2021

The Hall’s Management Committee met on March 9th. The main item on the agenda was to decide when we should re-open.

We have looked very carefully at all the government advice and ‘route map’ dates. We have also considered our Hall users and ‘customers’ who we suspect will want to see a clear indication that the need for Covid restrictions is over before returning to events in the Village Hall.

Hence we concluded that use of the Hall may resume after June 21st, which is the date the Government has set for all restrictions to be lifted.

The annual village Horticultural Show is already booked in the Hall for Satuerday August 14th, and elsewhere the Fete will resume on June 26th , all other things being equal.

Holding both of these village community events will help to give confidence that we really are over the worst.

Bearing in mind that we are soon approaching summer, Film Nights and Village Lunches will probably not resume until September or October, though no final decision has yet been made.

In the meantime, if you have any queries or requests for future Hall bookings, please contact the Booking Secretary on

Thank you again for your understanding and support.
