Lurgashall Arts & Crafts Exhibtion, 26-27 February 2022

Every three years for the last 20 or so, Lurgashall Village Hall hosts a very special Arts & Crafts Exhibition which shows some of the incredible artistic and craft talent of local people in our parish.

It is hard to describe the amazing variety and quality of works that are shown, and this year will be no exception.  Postponed from 2021 because of the coronavirus lockdown, applications for submitting works are now being accepted.  Entry forms are available in the village shop or from 8artscrafts@gmail.com.  Cut-off date for entries is 8 February.

The exhbition will be open for everyone to view on Sat 26th and Sun 27th February, 11am – 4pm, at Lurgashall Village Hall.  Admission is free.

A Carpenters’ Tribute – Sat. 22 January at Lurgashall Village Hall

We are delighted to welcome the very talented singer, Karen Barnett, to entertain the village with her brilliant tribute act of Carpenters’ songs.

Karen’s silky smooth tones are often likened to such great singers as Karen Carpenter, so she is the perfect person to give life to some of the Carpenters’ amazing songs.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Tickets £7.50 from the village shop or call 01428 707596.

Village Tea – Wed 26 January, 3-5pm

Afternoon Teas are back for 2022!

Everyone is welcome for a cuppa and a chat – and some of the most delicious home-made cakes in West Sussex!

Our monthly Afternoon Teas are a lovely, informal way of meeting people in the community.

Please note, because of the set-up for the Arts & Crafts exhibition, there will be no Afternoon Tea in February, but we will be back again on Wednesday 30th March.

What’s On – Jan-Feb 2022

Happy New Year!

Although covid is sadly still with us, we are absolutely delighted that our Village Hall is open and, with wise precautions, welcoming users and hirers for 2022!

Monthly Village Lunches and Afternoon Teas welcome everyone to come and chat and share a delicious meal or cuppa.

Work off that Christmas ‘excess’ with regular weekly Pilates classes and Table Tennis sessions!

Enjoy a musical evening of Carpenters’ songs with the wonderful Karen Barnett (Sat 22 Jan).  And do take part in our unique Arts & Crafts Exhibition at the end of February.

What’s On – Nov-Dec 2021

Our first FILM NIGHT since lockdown attracted a good sized audience. We have two more films to show this year, so do come along on the first Wednesday of each month – it’s good fun to watch on our Big Screen and Surround Sound in the company of friends and neighbours, with a Bar and Interval ice-creams, of course.
VILLAGE TEAS and LUNCHES are well under way again (N.B No Teas in December), and surely everyone is looking forward to Rose & Sprog’s unmissable CHRISTMAS BINGO!
(Forthcoming events will be advertised here in more detail in due course.)
In the meantime, Eliza keeps everyone fit with her Monday evening PILATES sessions, and Jane’s TABLE TENNIS on Fridays has proved a great hit (forgive the pun) with young and not-so-young alike.
Last but not least: DO REMEMBER that, if you or your organisation are based in Lurgashall, the Village Hall Management Committee has decided there will be NO CHARGE for hiring the Hall until the end of January 2022.
We look forward to seeing you soon…..

Come and play table tennis at the Village Hall!

It’s good for your physical and mental health, it’s sociable and it’s fun!

We hold regular sessions which are open to everyone of all ages and abilities.

Coffee and Play – first Friday of the month 11am – 1pm.  £2 contribution to drinks and cake.  Next session Friday 3 December 1am-1pm

After School/Evening Play – every Friday 5.30-7pm.  No charge.

All sessions with children attending are supervised by a responsible adult.
