Two Men went to War (2002)This heart-warming comedy drama tells the true WWII story of two members of England’s Army Dental Corps, Sgt. Peter King (Kenneth Cranham), a World War I veteran who wishes to die fighting, and Private Leslie Cuthbertson (Leo Bill), a wet-behind-the-ears trainee.

Inspired to leave their posts and sneak into occupied territory in France, the two dentists go on a personal mission to fight the Germans.   On the way they find friendship and ultimately learn that, to be a true hero, all intentions must come from the heart.

Open Day2020 small adLurgashall is lucky to have a well-equipped and well-maintained Village Hall for parties, meetings, monthly lunches and teas, rehearsals, talks, exhibitions, film nights, classes and more.

In the past year the new extension has been built, housing a much-needed furniture store room and a new archive/small meeting room.

Please drop in any time 11am – 4pm to have a look at all the Hall has to offer, and see how the village history Archive project is progressing. We will also be showing old film clips and images of life in Lurgashall throughout the day.
