Lurgashall Film Night takes a summer break

As we approach high summer and the holiday season, we are taking a break from Film Nights in the Village Hall for July, August and September.

Film Nights will resume on Wednesday 2nd October and continue as before on the first Wednesday of each month.

Ideas so far for autumn films:

‘Keeping Mum’  –  ‘The Favourite’  –  ‘Collette’  –  ‘Fisherman’s Friends’  –  ‘Mary Queen of Scots’  –  ‘Green Book’  –  ‘The Descendants’  –  ‘Red Joan’  –  ‘Stan & Ollie’  –  ‘Sometimes, Always, Never’.

If you have any film recommendations that you think our Lurgashall audience would enjoy, please contact Jacquie Lawson at jax@lurgashall.com

What’s on in July and August at Lurgashall Village Hall

July-Aug 2019First of all, you may notice there are no film nights in July and August. We’re taking a short break during the summer holidays, but don’t worry – *FILM NIGHT* will resume on Wed, 2nd October with a great new programme of monthly movies.

This year’s most exciting new village project has been, of course, the wonderful VILLAGE HALL EXTENSION, and if you haven’t already done so, you’ll have a great opportunity to explore inside at the *VILLAGE HALL A.G.M.* on Tuesday, July 9th at 7pm.

In the meantime, we hope your Green Fingers are busy tending your gorgeous exhibits for our 36th Annual *HORTICULTURAL CLUB SHOW* on Saturday, 17th August. Entry schedules are available from The Village Shop.

Happy Summer, everyone!

Pilates for All – July Classes at Lurgashall Village Hall

Pilates position

Local Pilates teacher Eliza Wheeler is running a flourishing Pilates class at Lurgashall Village Hall every Monday at 7.15pm.

July dates are: Mon. 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th July.

Eliza says: “As a Physiotherapist I think Pilates is a wonderful form of exercise, and everyone can benefit from it in some way.  The focus is on strengthening up the ‘core’ – improving strength centrally makes the bits on the outside function better!  We also work on flexibility, balance and posture.  The benefits of regular Pilates include not only toning legs, bums and tums, but also helping to reduce and prevent back pain.

“Ultimately, it should be fun, and I hope at the end of the class you walk out feeling refreshed and happy.”

If you would like to join the classes or have any questions, please contact Eliza on 07929 365088 or email eliza.wheeler@hotmail.co.uk .
